How long does the admissions process at Bright Path Academy take?
The admissions process takes five to seven business days. This includes a campus tour, a parent meeting with the head of school, a student interview and assessment with the head of school, and a review of the required documents for entry by our head of school.
What does rolling admission mean?
This simply means that we will accept new students at almost any time during the school year.
What criteria do you consider when accepting a student to Bright Path?
Bright Path uses a whole-child approach when accepting a new student. The head of school meets with every potential family and student and reviews the required documentation to assess whether Bright Path can offer your child everything they need and deserve.
Do you recommend my child continue outside therapies such as ABA, OT, etc.?
Yes, we recommend families continue working with outside therapists.
Are Bright Path teachers certified to work with students with ASD?
The teachers at Bright Path Academy have certification to teach in the state of Georgia or they have an advanced degree.
Why Bright Path Academy?
Bright Path Academy provides a tailored, individualized academic and social-emotional program for each student. In addition, your child’s teacher will provide a unique approach to learning by establishing a relationship with them from the very first moment they walk through the door. Bright Path teachers dig deep into their students’ academic profiles to accommodate their individualized learning needs.
What sort of teacher-to-student ratio do you offer?
We offer a 1:1 for a full day, 1:1 for a half day teacher/student ratio, but generally, our classes cap at 8 students, depending on your child’s needs. We also have support teachers in most classrooms.
What time does school start?
The school day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m.
What do I need to do when my child is absent from school?
Please email your child’s lead teacher to notify the school of absences.
What is the tardy policy?
If a student does not arrive by 8:10 a.m., we will mark them tardy.
Do you offer before or after-school care?
Currently, we do not offer before- or after-school care.
What is the dress code?
Bright Path Academy of Georgia does not have a uniform; however, we ask that students wear non-logoed shirts (i.e., no band shirts or shirts with sayings).
How will I be notified if school is closed due to bad weather or other emergencies?
In case of inclement weather or other school emergencies, please visit this website and/or our Facebook page. We will also notify the Atlanta TV station 11 Alive.
Do you permit visitors on campus?
Yes. For everyone’s safety, all visitors must check in with the receptionist in the front office before going anyplace else in the school.
Do you offer school lunches?
Students need to bring their lunch and any other snacks they require during the day.
My child must take medication during the school day. What is your medication policy?
You must complete the medication release policy (you’ll find it in your admissions packet) so we can administer medication to your child during school hours.
